Beyond school, he eagerly gives back to his community, volunteering whenever possible. He aspires to pursue a college degree in Business and Sports Management, with a dream of working with the Denver Nuggets basketball team. His mother proudly shares, “He has the biggest heart and works hard at everything he does.”
Dayne is a dedicated and driven young leader in his community. His achievements include receiving the prestigious Stroud Scholarship from Colorado College, being inducted into the National Honor Society, and earning a city Resiliency Award for his contributions. As a member of the Youth Advisory Council, he played a key role in securing funding and approvals for renovations at Panorama Park. Currently, Dayne is involved with Peak Education and Elevated, organizations that support youth development. He actively volunteers with Hillside Connection, assists at basketball clinics and camps, and coaches elementary students in 3v3 basketball tournaments.
Dayne greatly admires his basketball coaches, Terrell Brown and Xavier Ford, whom he credits as mentors and role models. These coaches have shown him what it truly means to be involved in the community, instilling in him a deep appreciation for giving back. Dayne is especially grateful for their unwavering support, noting that they have been there for him through life’s toughest moments.
Dayne has previously attended the African American Youth Leadership Conference, where he appreciated the valuable learning beyond the traditional classroom, especially in areas like life skills and college preparation. He found it inspiring to be surrounded by peers with similar experiences and backgrounds. A strong advocate for sports, community involvement, and family, Dayne is deeply grateful for the support he has received from his family and community. We’re excited to welcome him back to the AAYLC in March 2025!
