Student of the Month - July 2024 (Jaslyn Flinn)
Jaslyn Flinn has just completed her 8th grade year at Chinook Trail Middle School and is eagerly preparing to start high school at Liberty this fall. From a young age, Jaslyn has been passionate about softball. She began playing in the 3rd grade and quickly fell in love with the sport. Having played various positions, including infield, outfield, and pitcher, Jaslyn is excited to continue her softball journey at Liberty and has already started integrating with the high school team through scrimmages.
In addition to her athletic pursuits, Jaslyn discovered her love for photography during her 8th grade digital media class. She enjoys capturing the beauty of Colorado’s mountains and hopes to pursue freelance photography in the future. Jaslyn is also passionate about acting, having performed in her middle school’s production of “Matilda” and been involved in acting clubs. She looks forward to joining the main stage at Liberty and further developing her acting skills.
Jaslyn's commitment to academic excellence and personal growth is evident in her involvement in various extracurricular activities. She participated in Sources of Strength, a club recommended by teachers for students demonstrating outstanding academic performance and learning valuable mental health coping strategies. Additionally, Jaslyn is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
Jaslyn’s faith is a significant part of her life. Baptized at a young age, she is an active member of her school’s Christian Club and volunteers as a leader for a church camp during the summer. Outside of school, she enjoys reading historical fiction, fishing with her dad and brothers, and is interested in a future career in marine biology. We have had the pleasure of witnessing Jaslyn’s growth and achievements over the past two years with AAYLC and are excited to see her continue her journey in the high school sessions of AAYLC 2025.
