Leon is an outstanding student and athlete at Sproul Junior High, maintaining a 3.7 GPA in his first semester of 8th grade. His mother proudly shares, “Leon consistently embodies excellence through his kind and humble demeanor.” Leon dreams of attending a Division 1 college and pursuing a career as a professional basketball player. While he doesn’t have a specific team or state in mind, his commitment to hard work is evident in his academic success, community involvement, and extracurricular activities.
 

Leon is a dedicated member of his school’s basketball and track and field teams. Balancing his love for sports with academics, he consistently earns A and B grades. Beyond athletics, Leon showcases his talents in music by playing the flute and piano, excelling in chess, and enjoying creative outlets like reading comics—his favorite superhero is Spiderman: Miles Morales, a character he deeply identifies with. In his downtime, he unwinds by playing video games like Fortnite.
 

Community engagement is a cornerstone of Leon’s life. He assists his mother at her food pantry, helps distribute clothes to unhoused individuals, and participates in trail cleanups, activities he says help him build meaningful connections. Leon also partners with organizations like Hillside Connections, Blackpackers, and AAYLC, crediting AAYLC with teaching him about career opportunities, networking, dance, and robotics.
 

Faith plays a significant role in Leon’s life as he credits God with giving him strength through prayer during tough times. He also appreciates the unwavering support of his parents, who encourage him in all his endeavors. Leon’s dedication, resilience, and compassion make him a shining example of leadership and service.
