Student of the Month - October 2024 (Yasmeen Aaron)
“Yasmeen is consistent and works hard to be her best,” states the father of this North Middle School 8th grader! She may still be in middle school, but she is all ready for when she gets to high school. Yasmeen has been playing the clarinet for about 3 years. She will participate in the marching band when the season arrives and wants to play in the high school marching band next year. Yasmeen also really enjoys being part of the drama club in a unique way. While some students are competing to get on stage, Yasmeen is skilled at the technology used to run the backstage. She may even turn it into a career in the future!
Outside of school, Yasmeen is quite the artist in her free time. She picked up a pencil a few years ago and uses art as her form of expression. Sometimes she draws and sometimes she paints…depending on her mood. With an instrument in her hand and music in her ears, her creativity is unstoppable!
Beyond her hobbies, Yasmeen is already paving the way for a promising future. For the past few years, she has been actively involved with PEAK Education, a program she was recommended for by a teacher due to her academic achievements and standout qualities as a student. It's no surprise that Yasmeen plans to continue with the organization throughout high school. She is grateful to have found a strong sense of community within PEAK Education. Additionally, Yasmeen gives back by volunteering with Men of Influence (MOI). While her involvement initially began through her father’s connection to MOI and his radio show, she now dedicates her time to helping those in need, often participating in charitable giveaways during the holiday season.
We look forward to seeing her and her siblings at AAYLC 2025!
